"Banjaran means Free spirited"

While wondering on our next theme for our socials we connected with our roots ..
Banjaran is a gypsy tribe in rural Gujarat (India) whose oxidized silver jewelry has always been my personal favorite.
Inspired by this I decided to create #Banjamia theme in Chic Chronicles style!
Banjamia includes everything folksy with a modern twist, a trendy approach to wearing traditional weaves and fabrics.

While styling and creating looks for the theme I tried to incorporate small modern twists to otherwise traditional outfits, as seen in the picture here , I styled a threadwork skirt with phulkari work jacket paired with oxidized jewelry.
Illustrations for this theme were inspired by royalty traditional wear. Bringing in modern fabrics like tye-dye and brocket in traditional styles was something I tried to illustrate.
Even though the theme is over on my socials,
Banjaran style is so close to my heart that I end up dressing or styling myself in similar fashion very often!
While current trends include a lot of silver jewelry and oxidized jewelry, being a Gujarati by birth it's part of our traditional look, and to be honest I love how it can amplify a simple look and make a statement!
